UPDATE 5/19/2012: Two amendments to the NOR have been posted in the Regatta Documents area. See link below. Amendment #1 addresses changes in scoring and awards. Amendment #2 addresses issues specific to the Olson 30 class.
The Notice of Race for the LYRA 2012 Annual Regatta was posted today. A copy may be downloaded in the Regatta Documents section.
Oswego Yacht Club has registered this year’s Lake Yacht Racing Association’s Annual Regatta to be certified as a Clean Regatta by Sailors for the Sea, a non-profit organization that promotes ocean conservation, stewardship of keeping our recreational waterways clean, and education to promote clean boating practices. To achieve this certification OYC will be promoting simple practices that each participating crew do to help keep Lake Ontario, Oswego Harbor, the Oswego River clean. These practices include encouraging recycling by making separation bins available, providing refill stations to encourage reuse of water bottles, and make fuel and oil spill kits available when fueling. We believe this to be the first regatta on Lake Ontario registered for this certification.
